Macabre discovery this Friday noon at the ponds of Apigné, located southwest of Rennes, where walkers found the body of a man in his thirties who was floating in the water, weighted with a cinder block. “The first findings made by the forensic pathologist showed that the body had been weighted down by means of a concrete block and presents traces and wounds making it possible to direct the investigations towards a criminal procedure”, indicated Philippe Astruc, prosecutor of the Republic of Rennes, confirming information fromWest France.
A public prosecutor went to the scene and the investigation was entrusted to the Territorial Directorate of the Judicial Police. An autopsy of the body is to be performed this Friday evening at the Rennes forensic institute to determine the causes of death. “In addition to the findings at the scene of the discovery, the investigations are focusing on establishing the identity of the victim,” said the prosecutor.
