Sparks flew between David Jackson and Lisa Mieschke on the RTL show “Der Bachelor”. Nevertheless, he first decided on Angelina Utzeri. After the show, however, the two quickly split, and the bachelor reunited with runner-up Lisa.

The surprising swap of women after the “Bachelor” finale caused a stir. However, the drama did little to help the rate.
In the big reunion after the “Bachelor” final, David Jackson (32) surprisingly announced on Wednesday evening (May 10) that he was now in a relationship with second-placed Lisa Mieschke (32) instead of the winner Angelina Utzeri (28). The two are now celebrating their love online.
The bachelor wrote about a kissing photo on his Instagram page: “I once said that it’s not the first but the last kiss that counts… but sometimes both are.” His new girlfriend Lisa also shared the post on their account.
Jackson had announced to Potsdamerin in the finale of the RTL show: “At this point I have to tell you that I have developed stronger feelings for Angelina.” He gave his last rose to Angelina Utzeri from Albstadt. After the dating show was recorded, however, they quickly realized that the two of them didn’t fit. Utzeri described this in the reunion show with presenter Frauke Ludowig (59).

In the Podcast “Aftershow – the Bachelor” she then reported in more detail about what had happened in the past few weeks. She was “very surprised” that David Jackson had “very concrete ideas about the future” and planned the next steps in public. “He also said in a very specific tone that it has to work with us.” She would have perceived him as very empathetic, considerate and interested on the show. It turned out differently in real life.
David Jackson also wanted to plan the separation carefully. They talked for two hours in the car in Tübingen and discussed “what is communicated to production and the public”. At the very end he told her almost casually that he was “in contact with Lisa” again. “It would have been a fairer basis for discussion if he had told me that earlier,” says Angelina Utzeri. At the time he could not say whether he was with Lisa Mieschke. “So I didn’t know what to expect and what was going to happen when we met again.”
Angelina is now dreaming of “Let’s Dance”
The fact that David Jackson and Lisa Mieschke kissed in front of Frauke Ludowig surprised them a bit. “But I was very happy that they didn’t sit on my lap, but next to me.” She now has “really nothing more to say” to the bachelor. She also no longer has any contact with her former co-candidate. In addition, she revealed something that Lisa Mieschke may not like so much: the partner rings that Angelina wore with her bachelor’s degree, the two still have. While she wishes him and his new girlfriend good luck “with all my heart”, she is making big TV plans herself: “‘Let’s Dance’ is my absolute goal.”
It’s not the first time that an RTL bachelor has changed his mind again after the finale. In 2021, Niko Griesert (32) later also met second-placed Michèle de Roos (29). However, their love did not last long: in the summer of 2022, the couple separated again.
“Bachelor” in the quota low
As the industry service “DWDL.de” reports, this year’s 13th season was the weakest. A week before the finale, 1.12 million viewers tuned in, fewer than ever for a “Bachelor” episode. By the finale, the show had increased to 1.42 million. Last year more than two million tuned in.
