Thursday morning, a guard at the municipal vaccination center against Covid-19, located rue Louis-Astruc in Marseille, was attacked with a knife by an individual in his fifties. Arrested in the immediate vicinity of the scene and shortly after the facts, the alleged perpetrator was hospitalized under duress “in view of the psychological disorders presented”, said the prosecution on Friday.
“No element allows, for the moment, to direct the investigation on a terrorist motive”, added Dominique Laurens, the public prosecutor. The respondent has a criminal record provided, with 14 entries on it, although his last conviction dates back to 2014, for acts of rebellion.
The security guard, also in his fifties, was hospitalized Thursday morning in emergency and admitted to intensive care. These days are currently no longer in danger.
