The Alsatian branch of an international criminal organization dismantled



After a long investigation started in 2019, and a first round of arrests in 2020 in the Grand-Est, an Alsatian branch of an international criminal organization specializing in thefts of all kinds (burglary, shoplifting, etc.) has was dismantled and arrested on June 21, 2021. Twelve men to be precise. They are all Georgian or Armenian nationals.

The international investigation had made it possible to put a name on the regional criminal authority (Vors). A very professional organization. On June 21, 2021, therefore, from 6 a.m., a major operation mobilizing 80 investigators from the Bas-Rhin departmental security, 20 investigators from the Central Office for itinerant delinquency, Interpol police officers, supported by the antennas of the RAID of Strasbourg and Nancy, allowed the arrest of 12 individuals including two suspected of being heads of mafia clans: a Georgian leader and a leader of an Armenian clan, located in Strasbourg, as well as their lieutenants and henchmen.

Successful searches

Searches carried out at their homes led to the seizure of four
vehicles and a motorcycle, five handguns, 352 cartridges of cigarettes, 66 bottles
of alcohol, 103 bottles of branded perfume, more than 17,000 euros in cash, very
numerous products of large-scale shoplifting (cosmetics and
food) as well as luxury jewelry and leather goods.

At the end of their custody under the derogatory regime (96 hours), eleven people were referred, ten of whom were remanded in custody. Arrest warrants
were broadcast for some of the fugitives.
