The Alpine Film Festival 2024 celebrates its premiere in Munich – Munich

The song was originally written for a Broadway musical, but it is known worldwide as a football anthem: Liverpool FC fans have been singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone” in the stadium for decades, and people in Glasgow and Dortmund also like to roar along. The song’s encouraging message is also used in other ways, from Alpine Film Festival For example: This year’s film tour is also under the motto “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, which has a different meaning in the mountains. It is often easier to master a via ferrata or a summit tour in pairs or in a group.

In the coming months, the program, consisting of five short films, will tour Germany; the premiere will take place in Munich on Friday, June 7. Guests have announced their attendance for the event: extreme climber Robert Jasper, mountaineer Michi Wohlleben and ultra runners Susann Lehmann and Magdalena Kalus are expected. They will of course also be seen on the big screen: in “Lucky Peach,” Lehmann and Kalus tackle the “Eiger Ultra Trail” together – which means that they have to cover 250 kilometers and 18,000 meters of altitude non-stop in 100 hours.

Claus Hanischdörfer’s film of the same name describes a “summit love”: It portrays the well-known climber Robert Jasper and his not-so-well-known wife Daniela Jasper, who supports him and braves snow, ice, avalanches and rockfalls with him. She also takes care of raising the children. Even when her husband falls ill, she is at his side. The mountaineering film tour lasts a little over two hours in total, with a moderator and discussion between the films.
