The alcohol and drug positive driver

The driver who died in the car that collided with a police vehicle in the North on Sunday, killing the three officials, tested positive for alcohol and drugs, a source familiar with the matter said on Monday. The man, born in 1999, and his passenger, born in 2001 and seriously injured, were unfavorably known to the police “for alcohol, use of narcotics and outrages”, said a police source on Sunday.

An investigation for “homicide and involuntary injuries” has been opened. The Lille prosecutor, Carole Etienne, held a press conference at the end of the afternoon to give details of the circumstances of the accident.

Cocaine in the blood

She announced that the deceased driver’s blood alcohol level reached 2.8g and that traces of cocaine were found in his blood. According to her, “the man was known for acts of common law, but not in connection with driving”.
