After last year’s closed session, the 89th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, on August 21 and 22, 2021, will take place in front of the public. Some 50,000 people, or 20% of the usual tonnage, will be able to attend the event, which will use the health pass put in place on Wednesday.

In detail, the administrative checks (August 14) and the test day (August 15) will be out of sight, but fans will be able to “flock” from Wednesday August 18, during the first free practice of this fourth round. of the endurance world championship.

A reimbursement provided in case

On the other hand, there will be neither concert, nor fun fair “because of the still unstable health context”, justify the organizers. Which undertake to reimburse all spectators if the Covid-19 redoes its own, and forced a closed session or even a cancellation of the event.

The general public ticket office will open on Monday, June 21 at 10 a.m., while members of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, organizer of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will be able to purchase their tickets four days earlier.
