The 14-year-old teenager suspected of having killed a father on Friday in Marseille was placed in pre-trial detention in the juvenile section of a prison in the region. The alleged mastermind of this assassination, a 23-year-old man who was already detained, was placed in pre-trial detention and returned to his prison in Luynes, near Aix-en-Provence, said Nicolas Bessone, the prosecutor of the Republic of Marseille.
Finally, with regard to Wednesday’s narchomicide, ordered by the same inmate from Luynes, the 15-year-old minor recruited with another friend of his age to intimidate an adversary from another gang of traffickers was placed under judicial supervision with obligation to reside in a closed educational center far from Marseille, where he was taken, again according to the prosecutor.
“Unprecedented savagery”
The other 15-year-old minor commissioned for this intimidation operation was stabbed with around fifty stab wounds then burned alive, after being spotted by members of the opposing gang. The investigation continues to find the perpetrators of this murder of “unprecedented savagery”, in the words of Nicolas Bessone during a press conference on Sunday morning.
Friday’s homicide was believed to be revenge for Wednesday’s. But this revenge had failed and ended in the death of a person completely outside this gang war, a 36-year-old VTC driver, shot dead by the 14-year-old while he was driving him to the location of his CONTRACT. The teenager admitted the facts but spoke of an accidental shooting.
For crimes, minors can be incarcerated in pre-trial detention from the age of 13. For crimes, pre-trial detention is only possible from the age of 16.
