Gregor Kobel is one of the top performers at BVB. That’s why the goalkeeper is already associated with FC Bayern. He has now commented on the rumours.

Gregor Kobel is already being cautiously associated with a move to Bayern Munich. But the goalkeeper from Borussia Dortmund doesn’t want to know anything about it (yet).

In an otherwise mixed season for BVB, Gregor Kobel was undoubtedly one of the bright spots. The 24-year-old has been playing for black and yellow since last summer. Very quickly and completely deservedly, he achieved the status of the undisputed number one.

“If you have that confidence in the back that Kobel gives and radiates to the team, then he’s one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga,” Lothar Matthäus said Sky90. An opinion that he is not the only one to hold.

Kobel is slowly but surely being associated with Bayern

Accordingly, the rumors that are already emerging, albeit still loose, linking Kobel to Bayern.

Sooner or later Manuel Neuer will have to be replaced, while the intended successor, Alexander Nübel, is unlikely to return to Munich and take on the role of number one. Especially since the Dortmunder – as far as the Bundesliga is concerned – already makes a more mature impression.

Then Kobel would be the logical choice for FCB, wouldn’t it? It can be assumed that many a responsible person has already thought about this.

Kobel himself, however, doesn’t want to know anything about it – at least not yet. “I play for Dortmund and we have some plans with BVB. That’s all I’m interested in,” he commented on the rumors (via WAZ).

His contract with Borussia runs until the summer of 2026, so BVB has no time pressure to extend the working paper as quickly as possible. Although this scenario is certainly already being used.

For the keeper, however, these are issues that currently play no role for him. After all, he is currently with Switzerland at the World Cup. He made his debut in the important 3-2 win over Serbia that secured them a place in the round of 16 against Portugal.
