Terror trial: neo-Nazi activist sentenced to prison term

The State Security Senate sentenced the 55-year-old to a total imprisonment of six years and ordered conduct supervision. According to the presiding judge, an openly National Socialist sentiment was evident in the Franconian. This would show, among other things, in the tattoos of the defendants. She has therefore tattooed “enemy of the state” on her cleavage, as well as a swastika and the slogan of the SS. The accused accepted the conviction without much emotion.

Terrorist attack planned on public officials

According to the verdict, Susanne G. prepared a terrorist attack on public officials or people of Muslim faith, among other things. Their goal was therefore to create a climate of fear. According to the ruling, she previously sent death threats and ammunition to local politicians and a mosque association. When she was arrested, the police discovered several materials that could be used to build an incendiary device. The lawyers of the two local politicians who threatened her and who appeared as co-plaintiffs in the trial had previously requested eight years’ imprisonment.

Defendant denied charge

The 55-year-old herself has denied the alleged acts. She sees herself as a victim of police violence. Her lawyers demanded an acquittal. The woman from the district of Nürnberger Land has been in custody since September last year. The verdict is not yet legally binding. Susanne G. can appeal the judgment.

Contacts with NSU helpers

In the previous days of the trial it became clear how much Susanne G. was involved in the German neo-Nazi scene. So she got in touch with Ralf Wohlleben and André E. Both were convicted of helping the right-wing extremist NSU terrorist cell in July 2018. The judgments are not yet final. While the two were in custody, the naturopath exchanged letters with both of them. Personal meetings also took place, as shown by photos in the process. During a house search, the investigators found a swastika flag and pictures on Susanne G.’s smartphone showing Wohlleben and André E.

Susanne G. active in the neo-Nazi scene

BR research already showed when she was arrested last year that the 55-year-old is firmly integrated into the Bavarian neo-Nazi scene. The alternative practitioner regularly took part in marches of the nationwide small neo-Nazi party “The Third Way”, including in Nuremberg, Bamberg, Wunsiedel and Chemnitz. In addition, she also took on folder activities at demonstrations. Neo-Nazis also took part in several days of trial at the Higher Regional Court in Munich. The cadres of the scene were also on site during the judgment. Susanne G. still seems to be able to count on the support from the right-wing extremist scene.
