TER traffic between Nancy and Metz disrupted until Wednesday evening

A TER collided with the trailer of a heavy goods vehicle around 5:05 p.m., Friday May 19, at Belleville station level crossing, between Nancy and Pont-à-Mousson. As a result, traffic on the Nancy-Metz line was completely interrupted. In the Nancy-Metz direction, a limited number of trains runs on Saturday. In the Metz-Nancy direction, the trains are all divertedthey do not serve any other station.

A switch to replace

Traffic will remain very disturbed until Wednesday evening. Indeed, for four days, trains will only be able to travel on a single track in both directions between Nancy and Metz. The accident caused damage to infrastructure, a switch was broken and must be replaced. The capacity of the trains will therefore be reduced before a return to normal scheduled for Thursday.

No injuries are to be deplored in the train from Metz to Nancy which transported 79 passengers who hit the truck. The driver is not affected either according to the first findings of the firefighters on site. SNCF recommends that passengers postpone their tripand to consult the SNCF Connect application and the TER Grand Est site.
