The German tennis men just missed the surprise in the Davis Cup and were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the nations competition against Canada.

The German tennis men just missed the surprise in the Davis Cup and were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the nations competition against Canada.

The doubles Kevin Krawietz/Tim Pütz, previously undefeated in the Davis Cup, lost the decisive game on Friday night against Vasek Pospisil and Denis Shapovalov 6:2, 3:6, 3:6. In the first single of the day, Jan-Lennard Struff won against Shapovalov 6: 3, 4: 6, 7: 6 (7: 2). Oscar Otte then conceded the equalizer in the 6: 7 (1: 7), 4: 6 against world number six Felix Auger-Aliassime. Canada meets Italy in the semifinals on Saturday. The second game of the semifinals will be played by Australia and Croatia.
