“GNTM”: Kadidja out, twins will only be judged together

In the ProSieben show “Germany’s Next Top Model,” candidate Kadidja has repeatedly landed jobs. Now she’s been kicked out. The reasoning has made some fans angry.
In the ProSieben show “Germany’s Next Top Model” model mom Heidi Klum (50) made two decisions that have angered many fans. Firstly, she kicked out the previously very successful candidate Kadidja (21) because her great strength is her smile and her serious facial expressions could not keep up as a cover girl.
On the other hand, Klum decided that the identical twins Luka and Julian (24) should form the first model team in the history of this casting show. The two will be judged as one model in the future, so they will progress together or fly together. She had tried in vain for too long to separate the two and perceive them differently, said Klum. “You have magic together.”
Kadidja failed due to the joint vote of Klum and guest judge Kerstin Schneider, editor-in-chief of “Harper’s Bazaar”. At first, she was enthusiastic about the Viennese woman’s natural look. However, the 21-year-old beautician lost points in the second challenge – a run on a partially glass catwalk over a 100-meter drop.
Outrage in social networks over expulsion
In the eyes of Klum and Schneider, she had been too wobbly in her high heels. And at the shoot before the dare, only the happy pictures of Kadidja had really convinced the audience. Schneider was looking for a female and a male model for the cover of “Harper’s Bazaar”. She criticized that more variety was needed for this. Both also pointed out, however, that this was all just complaining at a very high level.
Fans of Kadidja, who had previously regularly landed modeling jobs on the show, were outraged by the decision on social media. They posted pictures of laughing “Harper’s Bazaar” cover models and of the incredibly high heels with which Kadidja – secured by ropes – had to walk across the narrow bridge over the abyss.
Other viewers complained that the decision to declare Luka and Julian as a single model act unfairly increased the chances of the other male participants. This is the first “GNTM” season in which men take part. It continues next Thursday. The final is on June 13th.
