The two entertainers have been given the royal task of welcoming the arrival of the British royal family and their guests for the coronation ceremony of King Charles III. to comment on television.

The jokers Joko and Klaas have to get together on the day of Charles III’s coronation. prove themselves as a noble reporter. On Tuesday evening they lost out on their show “Joko & Klaas against ProSieben” and got this royal job as a “punishment”.

In the hour before the actual coronation on Sunday, May 6, from 11:00 a.m., the two will comment on the arrival of the royal family and the international guests on the Sat.1 station.

Accompanying the actual ceremony, however, is left to royal experts: In the London studio, Sat.1 presenter Marlene Lufen expects Charlotte Countess of Oeynhausen, Heinrich Prince of Hanover and Ross Antony, a big fan of the royal family. Karen Heinrichs and Benjamin Bieneck report on the coronation ceremony directly from Westminster Abbey. Reporter Benedict Amara reports from Buckingham Palace.

Sat.1 editor-in-chief Juliane Eßling is delighted: “For the first time, Joko & Klaas can be seen for an hour on Sat.1. They will appropriately accompany the occasion in a royal tea time from a Berlin studio.”

1.39 million viewers (6.1 percent) followed “Joko & Klaas against ProSieben” on Tuesday from 8:15 p.m. With a market share of 18.4 percent among 14 to 49-year-olds (940,000 younger viewers), the format started a new season with more strength than ever before.

In “Joko & Klaas versus ProSieben” the entertainers compete against their broadcaster. If they lose, they have to take “penalties”. Among other things, the two have been pasted on a billboard as an advertising stunt – or they had to moderate the knowledge magazine “Galileo”.

If the duo wins, they can design a quarter of an hour of ProSieben broadcasting time as they wish in the “Joko and Klaas 15 minutes live” section – the two often use the time for serious social issues, but on other days they just do nonsense.
