Conference with Joe Biden on mental health: The stars of “Ted Lasso” were guests in the White House.

“Ted Lasso” gave a motivational speech at the White House on Monday. Jason Sudeikis (47), who embodies an always optimistic football coach in the Apple TV+ comedy series of the same name, was a guest of US President Joe Biden (80) with his co-stars.

Jason Sudeikis: “Everyone knows someone who has had a hard time”

In his speech, Sudeikis addressed mental health issues. “Regardless of who you are, where you live and who you voted for, you all probably know someone who’s been through it, who’s been feeling isolated, who’s been feeling anxious, who’s been feeling alone,” the actor said. “That’s one of the many things we have in common as human beings, believe it or not”.

“I know a lot of people in this city don’t always agree, right? And they don’t always feel like they’re being listened to,” the actor continues. “But I really believe that we should all do our best to take care of each other.”

After the speech, Sudeikis met Joe Boden and his wife Jill (71). It was about “the importance of taking care of your own mental health to promote overall well-being,” the White House said. Sudeikis was accompanied by “Ted Lasso” colleagues such as Hannah Waddingham (48) and Brett Goldstein (42).

“Ted Lasso”: Relaxed handling of mental health problems

But why “Ted Lasso” and why mental health? In the popular comedy series, psychological problems are treated in a relaxed manner. The title hero suffers from panic attacks, which he deals openly with and which he has treated.

The series is about American football coach Ted Lasso. He was unexpectedly signed by the British professional soccer team AFC Richmond, although he had no idea about the typically European sport. But with unshakable optimism, Ted Lasso helps his team succeed.
