Doctor’s appointment via AI: Doctolib takes over telephone assistant

A doctor’s appointment without the annoying wait? This can already be done via the Doctolib appointment platform. But the company now also wants to find a solution for calls.
The doctor platform Doctolib is taking over the Berlin-based provider of AI-based telephone assistants, Aaron.ai. The company wants to expand its portfolio and enable doctor’s practices to organize appointments automatically over the phone in the future, Doctolib announced.
Nothing was initially known about the agreed purchase price. “Doctolib integrates Aaron.ai’s AI solution into its practice software and thereby solves a key challenge for medical practices: telephone calls, which on average require 45 hours of time per month,” it said.
Patients can use the automated telephone assistance to make, cancel or reschedule appointments without having to try multiple times or end up on hold. Aaron.AI developed and sold the technology together with a subsidiary of Humboldt University, among other things, it said. Doctolib, in turn, is a French technology company in the healthcare sector. It is best known for its online appointment booking platform.
