The city of Glendale, Arizona is being renamed to mark the start of the tour by superstar Taylor Swift. The name will be revealed on Monday.

US star Taylor Swift (33) is given a great honor in Glendale. In the Arizona city, she will kick off her “The Eras Tour” at State Farm Stadium on March 17, and a temporary name change is planned for the event.

“Something very unusual” for Taylor Swift

Like the “NBC” subsidiary “KPNX” and “Fox 10 Phoenix” continue to report, Mayor Jerry P. Weiers will read a proclamation revealing the city’s new name next Monday. The name change will reportedly remain in effect until March 18.

The city said it wants to do “something very unusual” for Swift. In connection with this, the Westgate Entertainment District shopping center in Glendale is also expected to put up messages welcoming the musician, and local restaurants plan to offer menu items inspired by Swift herself.

The Grammy winner will perform for two nights in Glendale on March 17th and 18th before heading to Las Vegas, Nevada on March 24th.

Tour announcement in November

In November, the singer-songwriter announced that she would be touring the United States again following the release of her tenth studio album, Midnights. “I’m delighted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!)”, Swift wrote on social media. She added: “International dates will be announced as soon as possible.”
