Taufkirchen – New cooperative to build apartments – Munich district

The municipality of Taufkirchen wants to initiate the establishment of a private housing association. To do this, she promises him a plot of land of at least 4000 square meters, which should preferably be leased out. This was decided by the municipal council at the request of the factions of the FDP/Free Voters, SPD and Greens/Initiative Worth Living in Taufkirchen. The town hall administration should propose a suitable plot of land within three months.

Cooperative housing could “close the gap between social housing and investor housing,” said Maike Vatheuer-Seele (FDP), who played a key role in the application. “In this way, affordable housing can be created for people who earn money but cannot afford the current prices.” According to her, after the municipal council has decided on a plot of land, there will be an information event to initiate the founding of the cooperative. “Then we would give the ball to the citizenship,” says Maike Vatheuer-Seele.
