Taufkirchen must save – district of Munich

community finances:Taufkirchen must save

By Patrik Stäbler, Taufkirchen

According to Jan Gradl, the prospects for 2023 are as bleak as the current financial year has developed from the point of view of Taufkirchen’s treasurer. “We are in an excellent position at the moment,” he reported to the municipal council. But in view of an increasing district levy and several expensive large-scale projects, the situation will deteriorate significantly next year. “The budget deliberations will be crisp,” Gradl warned the municipal council. This must urgently set priorities in the long list of projects.

“We will have to think carefully,” confirmed Mayor Ullrich Sander (independent), “how much money we are making available for the renovation of the station building and the roundabout on Lindenring – and when we are going to start building the new middle school.” After all, according to the treasurer, these planned large-scale projects “cannot be financed with outside capital in the current situation”. The revenue from trade tax in particular has developed very well this year, said Gradl. Here he expects more than 18 million euros. In view of the economic signs, however, it is questionable whether such a result can be repeated in 2023.
