Taufkirchen:250th birthday with a delay

Ludwig van Beethoven and Friedrich Hölderlin were both born in 1770. Germany, yes the whole art world, celebrated its 250th birthday in 2020 – as far as possible under the changing conditions of the pandemic. The event, which takes place in Taufkirchen this Sunday, October 3rd, was one of those that had to be postponed. Herbert Hanko, who will read, and pianist Claus Blank, long-time director of the Taufkirchen Music School, will draw a picture of the two artists in a literary-musical program. Both Beethoven and Holderlin overcame boundaries and broke conventions, one became deaf, the other suffered from a serious mental illness. The catch-up event in the Culture and Congress Center Taufkirchen starts at 4 p.m., more information at https://kulturzentrum-taufkirchen.de.
