After the failed winter transfer, Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico is now hoping for a Barca move next summer.

Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico says he is still hoping for a move to FC Barcelona. The Argentine is now targeting a transfer next summer.

“The deal was complicated for the club in January – but I think it will be easier now, in June,” Tagliafico told TNT. According to media reports, the 29-year-old left-back has already changed his agent to force the move to the Catalans.

Tagliafico really wanted to join FC Barcelona in the winter

Tagliafico already wanted to join Barca last winter transfer window, but Ajax didn’t let the Copa America winner go at the time. A change is all the more likely in the summer, as Tagliafico’s contract expires in 2023 and the Dutch record champions could still generate a transfer fee.

Tagliafico moved from Independiente to Ajax Amsterdam in 2018 for a fee of four million euros. Since then he has won the Dutch championship and the national cup twice.
