Tactical contacts are “totally irresponsible”, judge Laurent Nuñez

It’s an idea that comes from Reconquest. Eric Zemmour, leader of the far-right political party, would like to see “tactical contacts” applied against urban rodeos. A proposal quickly rejected by the prefect of police of Paris who judges this method used by certain police officers in England “totally irresponsible”.

“We cannot fight against urban rodeos (…) without support, without prosecution, that does not exist”, declared Laurent Nuñez on France Info. Nevertheless, he recalled that contacts are “completely prohibited” and Eric Zemmour’s comments are “totally irresponsible”. “Some say that in principle taking charge is dangerous, we refuse that, but there can be no contact,” he insisted.

Deliberately hitting a vehicle

On Sunday, the former presidential candidate declared himself “in favor of what the English have been doing for a few months, what they call tactical contact” which conditionally authorizes the police to hit the vehicle pursued to fight against urban rodeos. “I am in favor of changing the law and doing like the English,” he insisted, assuring “that in England this kind of activity has decreased drastically”.

Eric Zemmour reacted to the indictment of a police officer suspected of having struck a scooter driven by three teenagers, injured in the accident, on April 13 in Paris with a service car, then of having modified his version of the facts .
