Table dispute on the Hörnle – Bavaria

After the first visit by action artist Wolfram Kastner in August, the Edelweiss Trachtler table was left with a blackened “never”.

There are actually three of Bad Kohlgruber’s local mountain Hörnle, namely the front, the middle and the rear. From the Hinterer Hörnle, a 1548 meter high panoramic mountain, it would still go over to the Stierkopf. Unfortunately, there is only one of them up there – possibly because they already have enough bulls’ heads in the valley. In any case, a few people have been hanging plaques in front of the horns of some other people instead of red cloths for a while now. The effect is the same.

The reason for the dispute is said to be very old. That this first wooden plaque “always” hung on the summit cross, as it is called from Kohlgrub, can hardly be true. After all, according to the label, it dates from 1934, at that time apparently “built by GTEV Edelweiß Bad Kohlgrub”. Later, years “14-18” for World War I were added “39-45” for World War II. That “our heroes” are greeted on the board, whose “spirit and self-sacrifice among the people may never wither” – that too would slowly but graciously weathered over time. But the Edelweiss mountain costume preservation association renewed the board with dates, heroes, spirit and courage around two years ago.

This irritated a history-sensitive hiker who attached a laminated note with a critical text. The note was gone quickly, but the hiker came back later with the left-wing politician Klaus Weber and the action artist Wolfram Kastner. They hung a similar wooden plaque that was supposed to glorify peace rather than war. This board was not always hanging, but for a few days at the most. Weber filed a criminal complaint for property damage, whereby the mountain table preservation association saw his summit cross damaged. In addition, after the descent of the pacifists, the old plaque with a blackened “never” was left behind, so that such spirit and self-sacrifice among the people would wither.

Of course, it shouldn’t stay that way, and the other day someone engraved a plate again. On the greet “no heroes” and “false self-sacrifice” may “wither forever”. It can be doubted that this board was erected by GTEV Edelweiss, although Kastner expressly thanked him for it. “Forever”? The engraving pistons glow.
