SZ Podcast “On the Point” – News from January 25th, 2022 – Health

In Germany, due to the highly infectious omicron variant, the number of detected corona infections is rising to new highs from day to day. According to the Robert Koch Institute, there were almost 127,000 on Tuesday. Most likely there are many more, but health authorities and test capacities are increasingly at the limit. That is why the federal and state governments have just decided that in future the PCR tests of employees in the health sector and particularly vulnerable people will be given priority. Otherwise not much should change.

But given the multitude of infections, it is becoming increasingly likely that at some point two lines will appear on your own rapid test. Then what should one do? Werner Bartens, doctor and “medicine man of the SZ”, answers all the important questions: from helpful medication, how long you should take it easy, to the question of what a “mild course” actually means.
