Sylvie Tellier says goodbye, tears in her eyes

MISS FRANCE – “Directing Miss France is more than a job, it’s a passion”. It is with these words, and tears in my eyes, that Sylvie Tellier said goodbye to her duties as general manager of the Miss France Committee, during the 93rd ceremony of the beauty pageant this Saturday, December 17.

Miss France 2002, who led the organization with an iron hand for more than 15 years, wished ” A lot of success “ to Alexia Laroche-Joubert and Cindy Fabre, who will take over, and with whom she has a strained relationship.

On the set of Miss France 2023Sylvie Tellier thanked Genevieve de Fontenaywhich she had replaced in 2007: “I know she’s watching us. I learned a lot from her and I really embrace her very much. »

She also paid tribute to Jean-Pierre Pernautwho died in March. “We were lucky to have him here with us last year”she recalled, “and he helped me so much to promote this competition”.

“How moved I am, I love you so much”

As she in turn thanked the French for their support, the former miss and director of the Miss France Committee received a standing ovation. With tears in her eyes, she interrupted her speech to address the audience directly: “What am I moved, I love you so much”.

For his last show, his whole family was present. Sylvie Tellier sent him a personal message: “You have allowed me to be a daughter, a woman, an accomplished mother”.

While she didn’t go into detail about her future plans, she said she would continue to engage “for the influence of France, French companies and their know-how”.

As she officially turns “the page of the Miss France book”Sylvie Tellier has already mentioned a possible return, this time on the side of the public: “Maybe it’s me one day who will be in your place to encourage my daughter Margaux in the Miss France adventure”before concluding : ” The show must go on ! ».
