Apple Introduces “MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max”
The US giant Apple issued a press release on Tuesday to draw attention to the new MacBook Pro. The new laptop is said to have the fastest performance of all previous MacBooks. According to the company report, the battery life should also reach a new record of up to 22 hours. “With the M2 Pro and M2 Max, the world’s most powerful and efficient chips in a pro laptop, MacBook Pro handles demanding tasks like rendering effects up to 6x faster and color grading up to 2x faster than the fastest MacBook Pro with Intel processor.” Furthermore, WLAN 6E is now also supported and “advanced” HDMI, so that 8K displays can now also be supported. The new WiFi standard extends the network to the 6 GHz frequency band and should thus enable higher bandwidth, faster speeds and lower latency times. The main memory of the M2 Max model is 96 gigabytes. Inherited from older versions, Apple has the Liquid Retina XRD display. In addition, the new MacBook version with Facetime HD camera and sound system with six speakers is available. The laptop will be available in 14-inch and 16-inch screen sizes. Pre-orders are already being accepted in Germany and sales will start on January 24th. The prices are between 2,399 and 4,149 euros.
Apple employees are convinced
“With faster performance, better connectivity and the longest battery life ever in a Mac, combined with the best display in a laptop, it’s simply unparalleled,” Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said in the press release.
Graphics performance at a glance
Apple probably had a particular focus on the graphics performance of the new MacBook. Rendering should be significantly faster and image processing with Adobe Photoshop should be visibly more efficient compared to previous generations. The operating system macOS Ventura should also increase efficiency and is equipped with updates for video conferences, among other things.
Already in advance: rumors about announcement
Rumors were already known in advance on the market. Well-known leaker Jon Prosser, who writes for the tech blog FrontPageTech.com, called on his followers on his Twitter profile on Monday to keep an eye on the tech company’s newsroom today. There, Apple regularly provides information about new products, but also about services, software updates and partnerships – and this time too.
