Sum 41 – Punk rock band breaks up after 27 years

Sum 41 will disband after 27 years on stage. After a last album and a world tour it should be over.
Sum 41 has been around since 1996, but the punk rock band will soon disband. The group has now announced on Instagram, among others. Playing in the band for so many years has given the musicians around singer Deryck Whibley (43) some “of the best moments of our lives”. “We will forever be grateful to our fans, old and new, who have supported us in any way they could,” the band writes. “Sum 41 will disband.”
Album and numerous concerts planned
The band’s breakthrough came with their debut album “All Killer No Filler” in 2001, from which their most well-known song “Fat Lip” comes. Anyone who would like to see the group live again will have the opportunity to do so in just a few weeks. Sum 41 will be in Europe play at several festivals. In Germany, the band performs at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park. The two festivals will take place from June 2nd to 4th at the Nürburgring and in Nuremberg. In addition, The Offspring and Simple Plan will be on the “Let the Bad Times Roll Tour” in the USA in August and September.
Apparently there will be another tour – and a new album is also on the horizon. “We will still be going on all of our currently upcoming tour dates this year and we look forward to releasing our latest album Heaven :x: Hell alongside a final worldwide tour to celebrate.” The band would like to reveal more details as soon as possible. “Thank you for the last 27 years of Sum 41,” say the musicians.
