Submarine dispute:EU-Australia trade talks postponed

Amid the dispute between France and Australia over the cancellation of a multi-billion dollar submarine project, talks about an EU trade agreement with Australia are postponed. Australian Trade Minister Dan Tehan said on Friday that talks with representatives of the European Union scheduled for October 12 should not take place until November. Tehan initially left open the role that Australia had abandoned the submarine deal with France. The EU has already postponed preparations for trade and technology talks with the US in protest at the business termination. Australia, Great Britain and the USA signed an Indo-Pacific Security Pact in September.
