Study on women in the media: Still a long way from parity – Media

There is currently only one leading medium in Germany in which women have more leadership power than men: die taz. Men continue to dominate at the top of the other eight major daily and weekly newspapers. That made one new study of the ProQuote Medien association, which has been reflecting on the industry from the inside out and comparing the proportion of women for ten years. The aim is to bring parity to the executive floors of German media houses. But the German media are still “far away” from a self-imposed quota of 50 percent for women, says project manager Anna Heidelberg-Stein, who presented the study results on Monday in Berlin.
