Study on the transport transition: The longer politicians wait, the more expensive it becomes – economy

It doesn’t have to be expensive. But it can. And that is when everything in the German transport sector simply continues as before. This is the result of a study by Prognos on behalf of the think tank Agora Verkehrswende. It shows that the longer politicians delay taking climate protection measures, the more expensive it becomes. It would be entirely possible to make the transport sector climate-neutral by 2045 without additional costs or loss of mobility. “Fast action pays off, political hesitation has a price,” is the conclusion of the deputy director of Agora Verkehrswende, Wiebke Zimmer.
