Since 9 a.m. on Tuesday, train traffic has been suspended by the SNCF between Sète and Montpellier (Hérault), then between Montpellier and Nîmes (Gard). Student demonstrators spontaneously took over the railway line in Montpellier to protest against the pension reform. Some sat on the tracks, blocking traffic.
The Scum, the University Combat Union, very involved since the start of the protest against the postponement of retirement to 64, was notably present, this Wednesday morning, at this spontaneous demonstration. According to the SNCF, train traffic should resume its normal course, in Hérault and Gard, before the end of the morning. The demonstrators demand the outright withdrawal of the pension reform.
