“Stranger Things” is now the most successful English Netflix series

According to Netflix, the fourth season “Stranger Things” is only the second series ever to have more than a billion streaming hours. In 93 countries, the format ends up in the top 10 of the streaming provider.
The fourth season of the Netflix hit series “Stranger Things” has broken a record. Since its release on the streaming platform, the season has racked up 1.15 billion viewing hours.
This was announced by the streaming provider. The fourth season of the mystery series is now the most successful English-language series on Netflix.
The season collected more than 301 million streaming hours in the past week alone, in which the last two episodes were released. The series was among the Netflix top 10 in 93 countries. The first part of the fourth season was released at the end of May.
Which series still holds the absolute record
Previously, only one Netflix series had managed to reach the milestone of one billion streaming hours within one month: The Korean-language thriller production “Squid Game” still holds the all-time record with 1.65 billion hours. However, this could still be broken by “Stranger Things”.
Netflix counts the viewing hours of a production in the first 28 days after publication, as reported by the industry magazine “Variety”. Due to the split release of the current season, the streaming hours of “Stranger Things 4” will be counted until the end of the month.
