The Netflix hit series “Stranger Things” could soon celebrate its premiere on stage. Apparently a musical is already being planned…

The Netflix hit series “Stranger Things” is not only a success on the streaming market, but also in the international hit parades. The song “Running Up That Hill” by 80s singer Kate Bush (63) was even catapulted to number one in the British charts. Now the tabloid “The Sun” wants learned that due to the hype surrounding the hit, a whole musical is even planned.

According to the report, the Netflix bosses have already secured the trademark rights in the UK for a “live theatrical, musical or comedic performance” of “Stranger Things”. In addition, one has applied for trademark protection for food, beverages and chewing gum. There is no official confirmation from Netflix yet.

In the current fourth season of the series, “Running Up That Hill” is the favorite song of grieving teenager Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink, 20), who unexpectedly even saves her life in episode four. For example, since the episode aired, the song’s views on Spotify have increased by 153 percent. The Kate Bush hit is almost omnipresent on video platforms like TikTok. In Germany, the song from 1985 currently ranks fourth in the official charts.
