Storm warning Munich: Ylenia causes delays in the S-Bahn – Munich

The effects of storm Ylenia are clearly noticeable in Munich. On Thursday morning there were failures and delays on numerous S-Bahn lines due to fallen trees.

The overhead line between Geltendorf and Puchheim on the S4 line currently needs to be repaired. There are also impairments on line S2 after a tree fell in the Bachern area. Trains from Munich end at Dachau station. Trains on line S6 from Munich start and end in Starnberg.

So far, however, there has been no major damage in Munich and the surrounding area. While classes were canceled in parts of Bavaria, pupils in Munich were able to continue going to school.

The German Weather Service (DWD) also warns of strong gusts of wind in the coming hours. There is a risk of branches, roof tiles or other objects falling.

It is advised to avoid parks such as the Englischer Garten. The Bavarian Palace Administration has closed the Nymphenburg Palace Park and the Schleißheim Palace Park in Oberschleißheim.
