People in southern Germany look worriedly to the sky as it rains. Some are still cleaning up after the floods. But the weather is not calming down yet.

After new severe weather warnings and Due to heavy rainfall in southern Germany, there were no major fire service operations on Saturday evening. The German Weather Service had warned of severe thunderstorms and heavy rain for several districts in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. The vast majority of warnings have since been lifted.

In the small town of Veringenstadt near Reutlingen, the fire department pumped water from streets and basements, according to the responsible operations manager. The amount of rain was too much for the sewer and could no longer drain away, explained the fireman.

In Bavaria, police spokesmen in Rosenheim and Kempten said the number of police and fire service operations was within normal limits. There was hail in some areas of Swabia. Parts of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg had to contend with severe flooding. It was particularly precarious in Regensburg, for example, because the water in the Danube was only receding very slowly.
