- Heavy rain has caused rivers to overflow in many places in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, triggering widespread flooding.
- Six houses collapsed in the village of Schuld in the Eifel. Around 70 people are now missing there.
- The number of deaths related to the storm is at least 33 as of Thursday afternoon.
- According to the Federal Ministry of the Interior, around 15,000 people will be deployed on Thursday.
- NRW Prime Minister Armin Laschet (CDU) and the Rhineland-Palatinate Prime Minister Malu Dreyer (SPD) get an idea of the situation in the disaster areas.
