Another winter storm has brought rain and snow, as well as flooding and power outages to California, the US state whose residents have been experiencing an unusually large number of storms and precipitation since the end of last year.

Parts of Silicon Valley, known worldwide as the Eldorado of information technology, were also affected by power outages on Tuesday afternoon local time, while flooding occurred in the metropolitan area around San Francisco. Meanwhile, in the US Northeast, where wet and cold weather is more familiar, there have also been countless power outages due to particularly wet and heavy snowfall that brought down utility poles. Parts of the New England region were affected, as well as the northern parts of the states of Pennsylvania and New York.
As early as Tuesday morning local time, a Delta Airlines plane skidded briefly off the runway onto a patch of grass at Syracuse, New York, in freezing conditions, and the airline said no one was injured. The metropolises of Boston and New York City were particularly hard hit by flight cancellations.
