Deutsche Börse is including shares from drug researcher Evotec, bottling plant manufacturer Krones, Software AG and Shop Apotheke Europe in the MDax stock market index for medium-sized stocks. On June 19, the real estate group Aroundtown, the telecommunications provider United Internet, the wafer manufacturer Siltronic and the US telecommunications supplier Adtran have to give way, as the German stock exchange announced on Monday after the stock market closed. As expected, there will be no changes in Frankfurt’s leading index Dax.
The four MDax relegated now end up in the SDax small value index, from which the real estate group Dic Asset falls out. Evotec was recently not listed in the larger indices because its annual report was not submitted on time. In future, the company will also be included in the TecDax technology selection index, from which the Linux software specialist Suse is withdrawing.
The changes had largely been expected by experts, but recently experts no longer reckoned with Siltronic being relegated to the SDax – and also not with Shop Apotheke Europe being promoted. When Krones and United Internet traded, the race was considered very close.
Index changes are particularly important for funds that replicate indices in real terms (physically replicating ETFs). There must then be reallocated accordingly, which can have an impact on share prices.
