Still nearly 6,000 patients sick with Covid-19 in shifts

The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care was up slightly on Sunday, still at just under 6,000, according to figures published by Public Health France. In total, there were 5,978 people in critical care services (which include resuscitation, intensive care and continuous monitoring) against 5,958 patients the day before.

In twenty-four hours, 218 patients were admitted to these services which treat the most serious cases, against 348 patients the day before. For ten days, the number of patients in intensive care has been close to 6,000. A figure below the peak of the first wave in April 2020 (around 7,000) but higher than that of the second wave in the fall (4,900).

A stable number of hospitalized patients

The total number of hospitalized Covid-19 patients is 30,287 against 30,100 on Saturday. 881 people have been hospitalized in the last 24 hours against 1,368.

Regarding deaths, 145 people died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, against 220 the day before.
