The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized in France continues to decline, according to data from Public Health France published Thursday evening. The intensive care unit, which receives the most serious cases, had 2,677 patients against 2,754 on Wednesday and 3,206 seven days ago.

In total, 15,283 coronavirus patients were treated in hospital in France, against 15,638 the day before and 17,941 a week ago.

71 additional deaths

During the last twenty-four hours, 71 Covid-19 patients have died, bringing the total toll to 109,857 dead since the start of the epidemic, according to the health agency.

In terms of contamination, 8,161 positive cases were identified in twenty-four hours, according to the figure published Thursday evening, for a positivity rate of 3.1% over the last seven days (number of positive people, compared to the total number of people tested).

Over 27 million first doses of vaccine

In terms of vaccination, open since Monday to the entire adult population, 27,038,449 people have received at least one first dose (40.4% of the total population and 51.5% of the adult population) , according to the Ministry of Health.

11,707,481 people received two injections, ie 17.5% of the total population and 22.3% of the adult population.
