Survey: Neck-and-neck race between CDU and AfD in Saxony

A new state parliament will be elected in Saxony on September 1st. With just two and a half months to go before the election, the race for the most votes is tight. The BSW is changing the majority situation.
The Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) coalition, with its current 15 percent approval rating, could enter the Saxon state parliament in the autumn as the third strongest force. According to the survey, the SPD and the Greens will remain at seven percent, while the Left Party, with three percent, would no longer be represented in the state parliament.
According to the MDR, 1,157 eligible voters were interviewed in the representative survey. A survey by the opinion research institute Insa on Wednesday also sees the AfD (32 percent) and the CDU (30 percent) almost neck and neck.
A new state parliament will be elected in Saxony on September 1st. Election polls are generally always subject to uncertainty. Among other things, declining party ties and increasingly short-term voting decisions make it difficult for opinion research institutes to weight the data collected. In principle, polls only reflect the opinion at the time of the survey and are not predictions of the election outcome.
