State election: Green Büchler and Köhler in the top places – Munich district

The candidates of the district Greens won promising places in the preparation of their party’s Upper Bavaria list for the autumn elections. On the list for the state parliament, Markus Büchler from Oberschleißheim was ranked 4th, Claudia Köhler from Unterhaching was elected 7th. Büchler and Köhler have been members of the Bavarian state parliament since 2018. The Greens district councilors Frauke Schwaiblmair from Gräfelfing won 7th place and Martin Wagner from Unterschleißheim 12th place on the district assembly list.

“We are pleased about the very good list positions for our four candidates,” said the district chairmen of the Greens, Lucia Kott and Volker Leib. “They were able to convince the delegates with their speeches for a real turnaround in traffic, social justice, inclusion and youth work. That motivates us even more to conduct a successful election campaign with our members in the district of Munich. We are fighting for a strong result, so that no one can passes the Greens.”

The Greens quartet from the district of Munich was nominated by the members of the district association in October in the two constituencies Munich-Land Nord and Munich-Land Süd as direct candidates for the state parliament and the district parliament. In the case of the Greens, the lists are ranked by individual elections by the delegates. Odd seats go to women, even seats are open to anyone. In the Bavarian state parliament and district elections, the first votes in the constituency and the personal list votes are added together. The sum decides whether a mandate is won.
