Anke Erdmann and Gazi Freitag are the new state chairmen of the Schleswig-Holstein Greens. Erdmann presented her plan for the European elections directly.

The Schleswig-Holstein Greens have elected Anke Erdmann and Gazi Freitag to the dual leadership of the state executive. The former member of parliament and state secretary Erdmann received 104 votes at a state party conference on Saturday in Neumünster. 11 delegates voted no and 4 abstained. In her introductory speech, the 50-year-old named the goal of becoming the second strongest force in the local elections next May and defending first place in Schleswig-Holstein in the next European elections. “I’m mostly outwardly, when it counts, energetic, tenacious and combative,” she said.

Friday received 66 votes in the election for the second half of the dual leadership. The 42-year-old district manager of the Kiel Greens prevailed against local politician Katharina Bartsch from Wentorf (Duchy of Lauenburg district), who received 52 votes. The two previous chairmen, Anna Tranziska and Steffen Regis, did not stand again.
