Every two years, the Stifterverband, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Economics, examines which colleges and universities in Germany are particularly successful in promoting start-ups. In the most recent ranking, Munich University of Applied Sciences (HM) took first place – leaving behind the Technical University of Munich (TUM). “We are proud of this top position. This is a nice distinction for what we have achieved in the past 20 years,” says Klaus Sailer, CEO of the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) at the HM. “Back then, nobody knew how to spell entrepreneurship. Fortunately, we started dealing with spin-offs so early: that gave us a head start.”
