Stadtwerke München provide information about energy price brakes – Munich

The public utilities are now informing consumers how the discounts for gas, heat and electricity will affect their discounts.

Stadtwerke München (SWM) wants to inform its customers immediately how the price controls for natural gas, electricity and heat affect their advance payments. They will also explain how the retroactive relief for January and February is calculated. The letters are being sent out gradually and will last until April. The Post had been delayed due to technical problems, but this should not result in a financial disadvantage for anyone. The state brake on gas reduces the price to twelve cents per kilowatt hour. If district heating is used, the price brake starts at 9.5 cents. The electricity price brake takes effect at 40 cents per kilowatt hour. However, the discounted prices only apply to 80 percent of previous consumption. Anything beyond that will be billed at the contractually agreed rates.
