Spy supervisors demand stricter security checks – politics

Parliament is urging the intelligence services to protect themselves better against espionage. The Parliamentary Control Committee (PKGr), which oversees the work of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND), the Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the Military Counterintelligence Service, sees a considerable need for improvement, especially in the routine security checks of employees. The checks would have to be carried out more quickly and more thoroughly. This emerges from a briefing by the supervisory body Süddeutsche Zeitung present. It lists a number of recommendations for the federal government.
