Springer project in geriatric care is well received – Bavaria

The Freie Wohlfahrtspflege in Bavaria welcomes the announced multi-million dollar support for Springer models in geriatric care by the state government. In this way, an idea that was originally financed by the Evangelical Church and implemented for the first time by the Bavarian Diakonie could “be tested across the board”, said the current chairwoman of the Freie Wohlfahrtspflege Bayern, the Bavarian Diakonie President Sabine Weingärtner.

The Bavarian Minister of Health Klaus Holetschek (CSU) recently announced that around 7.5 million euros would be made available for further testing of the Springer projects in elderly care. With such projects, the idea is to have extra employees available for staff bottlenecks in order to avoid having to call back existing staff from their free time. The pilot phase showed that the stand-in solution leads to more reliable duty rosters and less overtime.
