In this narrative reminiscent of Sonic Adventure 2, and especially Shadow the Hedgehog from the PlayStation 2 era, the anti-hero finds himself in a time-space rift; instead of Sonic and his friends trapped in a parallel universe, players explore a genuine mini open world. Here, players can freely traverse this monochrome space, breaking from the linearity of the original episode. The main antagonist is represented by a looming sphere above the area, with demonic eyes resembling the notorious Sauron from The Lord of the Rings. These spectacular and unique powers allow the character to progress through the various game zones and levels. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself riding a manta ray across water or transforming into a squid-like creature reminiscent of Splatoon. Shadow will even take to the skies with wings, raining down paralyzing projectiles on enemies. As a fiery protagonist, players can unleash devastating combos against numerous foes encountered throughout the adventure. There’s plenty to keep players engaged!
In addition to these abilities, Shadow quickly gains a skill called Chaos Control, enabling him to manipulate time. Depending on the scenario, this black hedgehog can halt time to progress.
