Chancellor Scholz traveled to the United Arab Emirates. The software group SAP concluded possible new orders during the visit.

The software company SAP and the government of Abu Dhabi want to work more closely together. On the sidelines of Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s (SPD) trip to the United Arab Emirates, both parties signed a declaration of intent on Sunday. The Emirate of Abu Dhabi is the largest of the country’s seven emirates.

According to SAP, the MOU is about an industrial strategy to transform Abu Dhabi’s economy. Among other things, sustainable growth is to be promoted, the ecosystem for local retailers strengthened and the transition to a circular economy promoted.

Among other things, SAP wants to train companies in the manufacturing industry in their digital skills. A talent development program is also planned. The Mannheim-based group also wants to support individual sectors with the introduction of technologies for the intelligent networking of machines.
