Three-year-old Julian of Sweden, the son of Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip, opened a playground with his parents.

Practice makes perfect for Prince Julian of Sweden (3). As part of the baptism of the son of Princess Sofia (39) and Prince Carl Philip (45), he was symbolically given a playground in the province of Halland, of which he is Duke. On June 17, the natural playground in Varberg was ceremoniously opened – and was immediately tested for fun by its little namesake. On their Instagram account, the Swedish royal family shared sweet snapshots showing the boy romping, climbing and laughing on the playground.

Wearing a yellow sweater, the three-year-old explored the various areas of the “Prince Julian Playground” with his parents. Beaming, he tried out the slide, balanced on wooden blocks holding his parents’ hands, climbed onto the giant wooden eagle, which he promptly named “Charlie,” and looked interestedly through binoculars.

Papa Carl Philip takes over the speech

While Julian concentrated on playing, his father Prince Carl Philip took over the “adult” duties. He gave a speech at the opening of the playground, as recordings show that the “Bunte”Meanwhile, Julian snuggled up on his arm – but then even dared to say something into the microphone himself.

Julian Herbert Folke, Prince of Sweden, Duke of Halland, is the third child of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia. He is seventh in line to the Swedish throne, behind his brothers Prince Alexander (8) and Prince Gabriel (6). Due to a new regulation of the royal family in 2021, the grandson of King Carl Gustaf (78) and Queen Silvia (80) is a prince, but is considered a private person and is therefore not a “Royal Highness”.
